The Wind Has Become Our Friend

a guided facilitation for emotional movement

Invitation and Introduction

Lintu Lover a multidisciplinary creator and performer together with Edet Cane a self-taught visual & dance artist are offering a facilitated performative situation for emotional movement. Through dance and conversational practices, we process emotional landscapes as a rehearsal of shifting perspectives. We explore an unconditional embodiment of difficulty and controversy.

“The unknown is a scary place to be but one gotta keep shakuing infinitely”

We hold a space together to allow remembering of something experienced outside of the ownership of a body. The unknown could be a movement that gives you belonging.

The deep breath reaches the deep water holding onto abuse.

My lower back pressed against yours, resisting oppression.

We dream of characters allowed to be raised from the ashes.

My perception is not separated from yours, after all.

Porous movement and continuous breath, blood circulation, possibly a reincarnation or something like that, maybe just a concept of praying for the sun after waking up.

In the movement we want to hold the possibility for healing by allowing tension to overthrow itself, because we believe the power can not be given away.

When the consumption has become work and shopping has to be done to sustain life, all I can think is, I’m afraid of landing. Privilege’s hyper individualistic curse as when one forgets the obvious: sharing generates energy way more than hoarding.

“...Our bodies in conflict with the gaze, how to find trust in this difficulty of being perceived?”

We want to ask: in your movement how do you place judgment in relation to the movement around you?

Think of the ways you've been trained to move. The patterns you repeat by default, the patterns that repeat in you by default.

How can we delve into the unknown, reverse what was repeatedly imposed on you?

Who is labeling the unknown, the other?

Where is the ownership in your body?
