RAT CITY

The Unicorn phone rings. The caller is a transformative romance based on a true story. Time to get a dna code, a gene installment that mutates the star into a bio-cyborg chimera, a mix of human and rat in the year of a rat 2221. The starring rat hopes to be connected with his revolutionary lover that has gone missing after the air got too thick to breathe and the government locked all bodies in their individual isolated living quarters and cut the chat mode of the shared digital stream of consciousness.

Rat City is a multidisciplinary solo piece based on movement research, experimental pop songs, a short novel and several short videos. This piece embodies what is alienated within the flesh. In the piece the body is in constant negotiation how the algorithm fed into our DNA forms a hopelessly romantic cruising ground for beings that identify as star entities rather than humans. The true story behind this concept is an intense short lived T4T (trans for trans/twink for twink) queer relationship that revolutionized many parks and hearts in Berlin with its commitment to fantasy being our lived reality.
